We went to Earl Bales park on Sunday with Rupali Aunty, Shaleen uncle and Aryan. It is a lovely park and it was full of snow that day. Shaleen uncle had bought this Toboggan for Aryan and me to play with and we had a whale of a time.

Homework

In my current school, homework is assigned monthly. I do only some of the items (the easy ones) though my parents dont approve of it - they want me to do more, but I just dont like to sit and study.

The list of items on the homework list are interesting, here are a selected few:

1. Imagine a new food item and create a TV Commercial to sell it

2. Write a recipe for lizard pie

3. Take a scale and create a list of some items at home which measure about 10 cms

4. Lie down on one side, raise the upper leg up and then bring it slowly down. Repeat 10 times

This one came in the mail ...it was a really neat surprise and I loved it. This is now the third RC Car in my stable and probably the meanest one. I already beat baba with my Ferrari against his Rover, I will beat him even worse with this one !

Birthday Party

We did not have a separate birthday party this year...the thing is, there was already a new year party planned with our friends in Toronto and one more party just one day earlier would have been "one too many". So we cut a cake in the new year's party instead.

It was a little difficult for both sets of grandparents, Preeti Atya, Ath, Ajay Kaka and also Sanket Kaka, Jui and Snehal Kaku back home since this is the first time they were not present for my party - we used to have so much fun together every year.

I got a "Cake-o-saurus" design cake. We had Pizza and Chicken Nuggets as snacks. There was dinner later in the evening (that was part of the New year Party). It was a fun evening.

7 Years old !

I turned 7 today and one of the gifts that I get is the continuation of this blog. Baba was not able to contribute for a while but has promised to take it up from now on - stay tuned !

I got up at 9 this morning then spent some time on the phone with friends and family who called to wish - Aaji-Aba, Preeti Atya, Suneeta Maushi, Anand Kaka, Tamhane Aaji. Bombay Ajoba-Aaji had already called me last night - it was the 30th for them in India already then. This is my first birthday away from Pune and everyone misses me as much as I miss them.

Aaji has sent me a huge parcel with gifts and goodies from Pune - that came in this morning - I loved all the gifts !

Baba took me to Tim Hortons for breakfast like I wanted (I just love double-chocolate doughnuts at TH) and then the three of us went to see a movie - Arthur Christmas - at the Empress Theaters at North York. We then went to Kids Fun City and played on the playscape and th mini-golf...Baba challenged me on several holes and I beat him 13 times :)

There is no birthday party today - we will cut a cake at the new year party tomorrow instead. Here are some pics

School started from yesterday. Daddy and mommy both worked from home yesterday so that they could join me to school. It was just fun yesterday, no studies. Senior KG should be serious stuff I guess..this is graduation year.

Saplings is starting a new bus service which should be more convenient than my previous one, but they havent launched operations yet, so daddy will drop me and pick me up until then (which is good...eh eh).

We had this fun tree(or was it plant)-plantation drive at Ojas yesterday. Rasika aunty and Revaa's aaji bought 20 saplings and all the children got together to plant them. It was fun !

Concert

Finally, we had our concert on Saturday morning. Daddy and mommy came. Aaji did not come becoz Aba would then be left alone at home and he wasnt keeping well.

I had invited Sunita Maushi and Sharayu Baby but they couldnt attend either.

Overall it went well. I was one of the leopards in the story of Zelda the zebra who ends up losing his stripes. I played my part well and daddy and mommy loved it !

Its been a while...so many things happened in between...

14 Feb - 28 Feb
Aaji and Aaba went on this tour to Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia & Thailand. Bombay Aaji came down to stayt with us so that Daddy and Mommy would not have to skip office. This was the first instance that I spent so much time with her and I really enjoyed her company. She did so many things for me...pampered me a lot.
She arrived in Pune the same day Aaji/Aba left. She bought a lot of gifts with her, Sheu Maushi had sent them thru Anu Maushi. There is this Pooh cup, sunglasses, shoes, Remote Control Helicopter, some clothes and what not. Sheu Maushi even remembered to send that tub ducky that I had told her to send me so many months ago...Sheu maushi is really something.
Maushi Aaji visited us the following weekend with Shilpa Maushi and Shaunak-Paarth. Preeti Maushi also arrived on the next day. It was a fun-filled weekend.
Bombay Aaji went back on the 27th morning. I really think she should come again.
Aaji-Aaba got me a lot of presents too !
Preeti Atya visited that same weekend with Athu Dada and Ajay Kaka.

06th March
We climbed Sinhagarh fort - Mommy, Daddy and I. Mommy's friend Dhanashri Maushi, Nikhil Kaka and Anushka-Aaryan, their kids also went with us. It was fun.

07th March
Anand Kaka came back from the US. We went to meet him and also to meet Vihaan baby...he has become such a big boy now ! And very very sweet. Anand Kaka has got me this T-Shirt which glows in the dark !
Sanket kaka dropped us home that evening and Jui and I played a lot in the car.

13-14 March
We did not go anywhere....daddy is down with fever. So at home.

Sports Day

Today was Sports Day. We had already prepared for it with spotless white shorts and matching canvas shoes and white socks.

I participated in the 'Cookie Race' - we had to knead a piece of dough, roll it into a cookie shape, cut it with a cookie cutter and whoever did it first won...actually there were no winners since we all got Gold medals anyways.

The 3 Idiots

It is vacation time, time for family to come together. Athu, Ajay Kaka and Preeti Atya came on the 25th joined by Maitrayee and Jyoti Atya on the 26th. Maami Aaji and Samir Kaka (he is daddy's cousin) came over too for a couple of days.

We had a lot of fun together. Maitrayee however suddenly fell sick on the night of the 28th, she came down with an Asthma attack. She had to be hospitalized for 3 days and went home after that so she wasnt there for any of the parties and missed the fun that came later. She is doing fine now.

On the 31st, we (Preeti Atya, Athu, Mommy, Daddy and I) went to see the movie "3 Idiots". This was the first time I got to see a "movie for grown ups" and I loved it. I have grown up now. I now know that you can use a vacuum cleaner to bring out babies from their mommys' stomachs (as demostrated in the movie).

When I went to bed last night, i hung the big sock to my bed. By now I am old enough to know that it isnt "Santa Claus" that actually delivers the gifts - he cannot make trips to so many places in one night - the gifts just get there by magic.

I was very happy to get my gifts this morning - one spellings game and one notepad. Pretty cool both of them. Next time, Santa, can you please throw in some chocolates too ?

School resumed from last Monday (31-Aug) though the swine-flu thing remains. And it was a short week since Thu was a holiday (Visarjan) and we took Friday off to make it a long weekend.

We travelled a lot over the weekend...first to Gokak and then to Mumbai. I did not enjoy the travel part..it was "too much" of driving. But the rest of it was fun.

There is this huge epidemic in Pune so my school is also closed starting today (as a precautionary measure). There was a PTA meeting this morning and they conducted a session for mom-dad about what we will learn this year. Its not much basically...3 letter words.

And my school has now gone green - we will stop using the "Communication Book" and information will be shared using the new portal. Pretty cool isnt it?

Hyderabad

We went to Hyderabad for a 3-day visit. We stayed at Manu Kaka's place and I had a very good time with Anu tai and Chiku tai.

We basically wanted to just chill out so we restricted the "sight seeing" bit (though Manu Kaka drove us around quite a bit) - but we still managed "snow world" and all those fancy restaurants that Manu kaka took us to. Archana Kaku made some fancy food for us and I have tolld mommy that she too needs to start putting potato in "bhindi ki sabji" like Archana Kaku - I like it better that way.

Anu tai and Chiku tai have really grown up...they are both taller than my dad now. Chiku tai even read my story books for me. Here is a snap from Hbad and the other ones are clickable from this one.

Athu came to stay with us for 3-4 days. He went back this morning, he will be back next week.

I had a good time when he was here - we went to Wonder Funkey on Thursday and to a marathi movie "Bokya Satbande" yesterday. After that we went to Mac D (I just love it over there).

This morning Athu travelled all by himself - daddy and I put him on a bus to Mumbai and Ajay kaka came to pick him up. I will be doing this when i am 13 (Athu is 12 but I need another year after I am 12 to be able to do this).

Have been playing with Aditi the rest of the morning.

Summer break !

Last day of school

Yesterday was the last day at Nursery Blue. It was particularly important as I will be going to the bigger school from next year.
We had fun and they even gave us chocolates :)

I was actually down with high fever the entire week before that so could not attend school before that. Sonal teacher called up mummy to ask why I am not coming to school and insisted that I should try and attend the last day. So daddy dropped me to school and mommy sat outside the entire duration of the class (since I was very weak).

YES BANK had organized a drawing competition for the kids in our housing complex this morning. The theme was "Holi". I was very disappointed that I did not get a prize...but daddy and mommy think thats ok - it doesnt matter it seems. I dont agree. Priyavrat got a prize, Sejal got one, so why not me? Adu did not get it too, but she doesnt mind, maybe becoz she is older.

BTW, daddy came back early this morning so when I woke up, he was sleeping beside me....he did not get me the train tunnel I so wanted him to get. He has got me a new bath towel, new shoes and a nice picture mat though.

Farm animals, garden veggies

We have some fun stuff going on at school these days. Last month it was all about farm animals. This months its veggies.

Last week we dug up some carrot and potatoes, washed and peeled them. The potatoes were then boiled and we mashed them. Then we made salad.

I got back the salad I made at school today in a neat packet. Here is what was written behind:

Little Meenal is as old as Mihir but has handled this really well. She says "maazhi Aaji star zhali aahe". Still better, she told us (when we went for the 13th day ritual in Ujjain) - "tila durusta karayla deva kade pathavla aahe, theek zhali ki yeil parat". Meenal, whenever she gets any sweet or similar in school, she always keeps one part in front of Asha maushi's photograph...she has moved on, but not forgotten. None of the adults have moved on yet but Meenal has.

They have started this new "Sanskaar Varga" thing in my housing complex...a teacher comes from outside and conducts organized games for all of us kids. It is a lot of fun !

We celebrated my birthday very quietly this year. But we celebrated it twice :) On the birthday (30th), we had this Spiderman cake (I wanted it so much) and only Adu and Shravani came over(Rewa was invited too but she was out sick) as did our immediate neighbours (the Bapats).

The Mumbai gang came to Pune on the 3rd of Jan since they could come only over the weekend and we celebrated again. Shilpa maushi also came with Milind Kaka and Shaunak+Parth. And of course there was Andya Kaka, Shraddha Kaku, Sanket Kaka, Snehal Kaku and Jui.

Though the celebrations were low-key, I got a huge number of gifts from everyone! Here are some pictures.

Merry Christmas !

Christmas was really great this time. When I got up this morning, I found my stocking full of goodies from Santa - one new mug, a new book and a toy ! Then, baba came back home in the afternoon (he was in China all of last week) and he bought me this new bucket of Lego bricks :) And wait...it did not end there...Preeti Atya was in Pune today for some work and she visited (with Athu dada & Ajay Kaka) in the evening, she bought me this new hot wheels set !!

Concert

Yesterday was our concert in school. Aaji, Mommy, Ta and Baba came to see me - I participated in all the acts - the welcome song, then the "Kiti sangu me sangu kunaala, aaj anandi ananda zhala" song, then the Rainbow song (I was the orange colour) and then the final goodbye song.

I was not scared at all and everyone liked my performance. Daddy was not allowed to video-shoot the event though, so we will buy the DVD when the school announces it is ready - and hopefully upload it too.

New wheels

Sheu maushi's wedding done, we returned home late last night.

On the second day of the wedding, there is a tradition that men from the girl's home go to her new house and bring the girl and her husband back home for lunch. So baba and I went to Dnyanesh Kaka's house in Mulund on the day after the wedding - the fact that I went underscores what I have been saying all along - I am a big boy now.

One thing I did not understand though - my parents did not seem pleased when I told them about this girl from my school that I want to marry.

Daddy was just not giving enough time to my blog and missed out so much fun that happened in all this while! There was Rakhi, a couple of Mumbai trips, Aaji's Kashmir trip, Paarth's first birthday (which we missed) and so many other things !

Trip to Mumbai

We spent the weekend in Mumbai. Preeti Atya shifted to Mumbai a few weeks ago after Ajay Kaka shifted his work location there. Athu has now joined a school in Mumbai.

Today was Athu's birthday so we went to Ghatkopar to spend the day with them. It was a good trip. Preeti Atya made it a point to ensure that all my toys were shifted to Mumbai (despite the thousand other "essentials" that she had to look after while shifting).

We came back today evening.

Konkan trip

We all went to Konkan for a weekend trip. Mommy had an off on Monday so daddy took off too and we travelled to Ganpatipule, Pawas, Jaigadh. We stayed at the MTDC resort at Ganpatipule.

I had fun on the beach but away from the water, I still get scared near water.

Last day of playschool

Today was the last working day of school. We said goodbye to Uma teacher and Veena teacher. I am going to miss them a lot. From now until June - VACATION TIME !!!!

- Daddy was away on a business trip to China for a week. He did not get back anything for me

- I made two trips to Mumbai to meet Sheu Maushi who is currently in Mumbai

Trip to Mahabaleshwar

Daddy, Mommy and I drove to Mahabaleshwar on Tuesday morning and came back on Friday afternoon. It was a fun getaway. I ...err...bunked school (I am allowed to do that just now) and daddy had taken off from work. Mommy is already on a sabbatical so she is at home these days.

We went row-boating, paddle-boating, horse-riding and sight seeing and had a good time. Here are some pics.

This year's birthday was very low key owing to Aaji's illness (we did not want to disturb her rest). Anu maushi did drive down from mumbai though and managed to get Ba, Bombay Aajoba and Bombay Aaji along.

We had our annual concert on 13-Dec-2007. They had put up this stage in the bigger school premises, complete with props and all. I had kept everyone at home guessing about what I was going to do. I was a duckling. My friend Mukta (I call her Muktuli) was a honeybee.

Daddy, mommy and I went to e-Square cinema today to see 'Bal-Ganesha'. This was my first ever movie-at-a-cinema experience and I loved it. There were a lot of kids my age there. We also ate popcorn.I did not get scared of the darkness inside and the movie was ok too.

On our way to Mumbai, we stopped for a breakfast break and we ran into Ashwini Bhave (she is a famous Marathi movie star, daddy and mommy are both big fans). Mummy spoke to her, she spoke to me too!

Bombay Aaji turns 60!

Bombay Aaji turned 60 on Sunday (Dussehra day). We went to Mumbai in the morning. Maushi Aaji, Preety Maushi, Tamhane Aaji-Ajoba and Milind Kaka and Shaunak were also there. After the cake cutting we went out for lunch and then returned to Pune in the evening. Shilpa Maushi and her baby-with-no-name-yet did not come.
