Mihir has a bad fall

Mihir rolled off the bed in his sleep late last night and hurt his head. Daddy was not at home and the others were in the outer room. He cried a lot but slept in grammas lap afterwards.

We were planning to leave for Mumbai this evening but that is now postponed.

Wouldn't it be great if life were like Tom and Jerry where a bump on the head is still funny?

Mihir gives daddy a tough day at home

I was at home today to catch up on some non-office work. Mommy went to office as usual. Mihir kept looking at me all day and kept crying. He did not eat or sleep properly either, just wanted me to hold him. Even while he was with me, I got a feeling that he was being reminded of mommy so he kept crying.

I have never seen him cry so much and it hasn't been easy. Finally at 5 in the evening,I drove Mihir and his governess to mommy's office. We picked up mommy from there and came back home. Things have been absolutely peaceful since then.

I think Mihir is always used to seeing mommy and me come home together, so when he saw me and not mommy, he kept missing her.

Ashmit

Samir Kaka has bought a new camera and he clicked this picture of Ashmit. Daddy loved this picture, he said it is very 'expressive' though I dont why daddy liked a picture where a baby (just like me) was unhappy about something.

Excellent Pic of Ashmit (pic by Samir Kaka) Posted by Picasa

The reason why Ashmit was so unhappy, btw, was that he wanted to go out and play. Valid reason I guess, all babies should play outside the house in the evening.

a 'happening' weekend

Lets start from the beginning:

On Saturday morning, daddy and mommy took me to my doctor. As usual, she poked me with a needle (when will she learn?) but I only cried a lil while. Then we went to Sanket kaka's house to meet them.

While we were at Sanket Kaka's house, my grampa from Mumbai called daddy to tell us some good news: Shilpa Maushi and Milind Kaka have got a new baby boy!!!! So i have a brand new cousin now and I am very excited about it. We plan to go to Mumbai the next weekend to meet him.

Then on the way back from Sanket Kaka's house, daddy and mommy got me a 'Tiger' dress :) it is nice and I am roaring to wear it. Daddy will of course click a pic when I do and upload it there. Daddy's an OK guy...I mean he isnt as nice as mommy but he is pretty decent...I like him.

On Sunday, we went out and bought me a new 'Juju' (a swing for babies) and we have got it installed in the house too. It is cool, I love it. Here is a pic with me in the juju.

On Sunday evening, Samir Kaka, Kanchan Kaku and Ashmit came to our house. I played with Ashmit while the elders talked. Ashmit is a little older than I and he is a nice guy.

catching up

daddy was a little tied up with stuff over the past few days and could not write. Here is a summary of all that happened in Ganu's life between the last post and now:

8-Sep: Mommy joined office after a 10 month break. Ganu now stays at home with the governess (Savita), with Grampa to watch.

10, 11-Sep: Daddy was working over the weekend :(

14-Sep: Titeer's first birthday. Ganu, daddy and Mommy went to the party. Met many other small babies there.

18-Sep: Mihir has now learnt to crawl on all fours. He was thrilled after he did this the first time and now roams all the corners of the house on his own, all the time. Went to Shopper's Stop with daddy, mommy and anand kaka.

what I can do now

I can 'bababa', I can stand on my own provided there is enough support, I can get people's attention by calling out to them (I say 'aeeee' and the person always looks at me).

Weekend trip to mumbai (daddy writes)

We were meaning to make a quick trip to mumbai for sometime as great-grammy was missing Mihir a lot. We decided to make the trip over the weekend and went on Saturday morning. Mihir was visiting after a gap of 3 months and has completely forgotten everyone in Mumbai. He was looking at everyone with suspicion and was not ready to be away from daddy or mommy for even a short while. Eventually he became ok with Anu maushi and granny, but not at all with grampa and great-grammy.

On Saturday evening we went to Kandivli to visit Abha. Abha is the daughter of Amruta and Amol Botle. Amruta is mommy's first cousin. Abha is a very sweet baby, she is 40 days younger than Mihir.

When the two kids first met, Abha pulled at Mihir's hair and that was enought to set him off crying. After things cooled down, the two met again - this time in a very composed manner....something like two heads of state. And just like visiting foreign dignitaries exchange flags, the two babies exchanged their teethers and then sat down chewing them. It was fun watching the two of them together. This calm did not last very long though, both of them started pulling each other's hair, so we eventually separated them.

Amruta has clicked a few better pictures of the two together, I will upload them on the site when she sends them to us.For now, here is what I have - Abha and Mihir after the Teether exchange!

hmmm...your teether looks better than mine Posted by Picasa

We returned from Mumbai a couple of hours ago. Mihir was a little scared in the car and cried a bit. It was probably beause it was dark on the highway and inside the car too...he is fine since we reached home.
